Don’t settle for speed discs that are great for just six months. Explore how FarmChief’s Opti-Cut technology keeps your speed discs performing consistently.
The ExpressPlus range from FarmChief uses 560mm discs with 21° cutting angle and a 19° vertical tillage angle. These angles give the disc an aggressive cut into the soil whilst providing the penetration needed to work the ground effectively.
Over time, a disc blade will naturally become smaller, and its cutting edge will wear down with use. On some speed disc designs, this wear can change the effective working angle of the blade and gradually cause them to lose their ability to cut, lift and incorporate soil the way they did when they were new.
The ExpressPlus has been designed differently. The angle of the disc and the way it’s positioned on the machine work together so that the working angle remains consistent as the disc wears.
This means the disc isn’t relying solely on a sharp, barely worn edge to provide its cutting action. The geometry of the disc is designed to maintain its working angle throughout the life of the blade, ensuring performance consistency does not degrade as quickly over time.
Also, unlike most speed discs, the ExpressPlus uses a cone shaped disc, rather than a conventional concave design, the cone shape creates a consistent point to point from the bearing position to the edge of the display, which is important for maintaining that all important working angle.
“Customers have told us that their paddocks have been so much more level after using the ExpressPlus Speed Discs due to the optimum cutting angle of the cone shaped disc giving greater penetration and soil disturbance, which makes for better tilth and a superior seedbed.” – Anthony Murray
FarmChief customers frequently comment on the inefficiencies such as movement that come from weaker disc arms and clamps. More movement in the arm means less movement of the soil, making for a poorer, more lumpy finish.
FarmChief’s extra wide clamp helps to solve this issue: Built so the Opti-Cut position of the large 560mm discs doesn’t change, even when faced with the most difficult, hard going pugging and compaction.
With six bolts per clamp, and a ‘pinch’ in the middle to provide extra grip to the large box section, the arms are locked into place, ensuring there will be no movement and instead consistent high performances from every disc blade.
If you want speed discs that constantly give you solid performance for longer, quickly dealing with all the clods and large residue. Try the ExpressPlus Opti-Cut System Speed Discs.
Made with the idea of saving customers time and effort from replacing discs as often. The system ensures consistent and effective performance throughout the disc’s life.
Ultimately, it comes back to a relatively simple idea: all discs wear, but the working angle and performance don’t have to change with them.
