Farmchief Machinery Ltd is on the lookout for a Service Technician extraordinaire to join our hard-working, fun-loving team at our Waikato branch. About the role

This vacancy has arisen due to an internal transfer within Farmchief, creating an opportunity to join our Waikato Service team.

As a Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining customer and dealer-owned agricultural machinery. You’ll also assist with field service work when required.

The important (but necessary) stuff:

  • Diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs across a range of machinery
  • Testing machinery and clearly communicating issues to customers or management
  • Using electronic monitors, software, and computers to calibrate and operate equipment
  • Replacing parts and keeping accurate, detailed service records
  • Recording labour and parts correctly and efficiently
  • Maintaining a tidy and safe work environment, including company vehicles
  • Communicating with the manager regarding job progress and timelines
  • Ordering parts to ensure work is completed efficiently
  • Keeping customers informed and recommending additional required work
  • Working as part of a cohesive, respectful team and sharing knowledge with others
