Over 128,000 people attended the 2019 National Fieldays® at Mystery Creek, and Farmchief was pleased to be part of this enormous show with a display of the best gear in NZ.

Todd Murray who was one of the Chiefs onsite for FarmChief at the Fieldays® says the weather was good and the mood was up-beat among the contractors, dairy farmers, winter grazers and sheep & beef farmers.

He says increasing cultivation efficiency was upmost in most people’s minds with strong interest particularly in the ExpressPlus 4500 Speed Discs, in lieu of traditional rotary implements. The RSR Roll Seed Roll Drill was also catching buyers’ eyes; “It’s optimising that all important soil-to-seed contact that people are looking for. Everyone’s wanting to get crops in earlier and easier.” Demand for wide, folding cultivators continues to be strong.

It was also good to catch up with existing customers and hear how their past investments in our gear was getting the job done better, quicker and more effectively.

Todd says enquiries around FarmChief’s lease-to-buy options are also solid and provide an affordable way around the pressures of capital expenditure. “Clients are seeing the value in that.”

On the hitch; Traffic management needs a serious revamp. Nobody ever expects their customers to wait hours to leave their business. Agriculture is a prime industry in New Zealand, and we deserve better.
